SUPERSCAN
Surface Quality Control for decorative wood-based Panels
Manual inspection is replaced by the SUPERSCAN system. This ensures a continuous and constant quality control; the parameters used to make decisions remain constant.
Function of the GreCon SUPERSCAN
SUPERSCAN inspects the surface pattern of each panel inline. Detailed conclusions for the adjustment of the upstream production process are possible through fault and statistics reports. Thus, not only the sorting but also the entire production process can be optimised. Different measures, if necessary, can be taken.
Your Benefit
Objective, constant judgement of quality
Statistical evaluation
Graphical representation of the whole panel
Reliable and objective inspection
Defect location data on press size panels makes reject reduction possible
Reduced manpower costs
Measuring principle
Each panel is detected by a camera system. Thus defective areas are detected where the surface differentiates from the exact surface. Each detected area is classified in bright and dark defects (typed). The parameterization of quality classification and sorting classification is freely adaptable.
The system is self-learning. Differentiation in new and already known patterns takes place. For the stored patterns the deposited image data is selected from the data base at the beginning of a new commission, after this the system is ready for use. If this is a new pattern, two successive panels are compared.
If the deviations between the panel scans are smaller than the preset tolerance limits, the data is used as a master. All the following panels will be compared with the master. The learning procedure is simple and takes only a few minutes. New patterns can be learned within a very short time.
Possible defects of the surface of each panel are defined and if necessary indicated on the monitor. By analysing the data like type of defect, size of defect and position of defect a quality allocation occurs. The sorting station is controlled automatically by the quality determination.
Construction of the system
A robust, closed o-frame forms the basic construction of the measuring structure. Shutters and doors allow an easy entry to the individual measuring components.
The field of vision of the camera is protected against dirt, dust, flying paper scraps and artificial light ingress. Slightly over-pressurising provides ideal measuring condition and cools the light source at the same time.
The light is equipped with a signal-horn in order to protect it against blows.
