GreCon Moisture Analyser
The GreCon Moisture Analyser MWF 5000 is an ideal measuring system, which provides the user the necessary precise information about product moisture. The continual availability or product properties allows for easy adjustment of the production process to ensure a high standard of product quality.
Chips and fibres must be neither too wet or to dry. Therefore the control of the moisture of the material is of utmost importance. If the material is too wet, reductions in panel quality and slower production speed will occur. If it is too dry, valuable energy is wasted. In addition the danger of fire and explosion in a dryer plant can increase.

Construction of the MWF 5000
The moisture analyser MWF 5000 consists of a microprocessor-controlled evaluation unit and the microwave sensor. This component is linked by a provided special cable. The measuring method occurs to the "Microwave Resonance Method".
For getting measuring values, the measuring field has to be filled with material. According to the moisture material a change in the natural frequency can take place. By using a patented method, the absolute moisture is evaluated. In such a way evaluated moisture is density-independent.
Each product needs a several calibration of the measurement system for the ideal moisture measure. Up to 20 (optional 40) calibration with the calibrations curve and measured data can be stored in the battery-buffered memory of the system. Backup functions allow a rerecording on an external pc.
A password protects all or only individual data levels against unauthorised access. The system has user programmable analog outputs, control and alarm lines and two serial interfaces for the transmission of data to printers or computers.
Applications of the GreCon MWF 5000
Dryer
A combination of two MWF 5000 is preferred in this position. Before the dryer, the material moisture values mean the amount of material can be regulated via the feed velocity. At the dryer outlet, the moisture values can be used to regulate the dryer.
Blender
The automatic supply of glue, resin and water can be regulated by the values measured at the inlet and outlet of the blender.
Forming Line
The use of the MWF 5000 on the prepressed panel (preferable in MDF or HDF plants) gives final data about the moisture of the finished fibre mat. In case of doubt a discharge of the material can be possible if none accurate panel can be expected after the press.
Star Cooler
The position before or after the star cooler allows checking of the finished panel for the pre-determined moisture values. Thus, it is ensured that the panels are supplied to the end customer with the right moisture.
