DMR 5000

Inline Thickness Gauge for Quality Assurance with Rhomboidal Technology

GreCon DMR 5000

The GreCon thickness gauge DMR 5000 makes a homogenising of production processes possible and furthermore opens up the exploitation of important production reserves. The availability of the facilities and their profitability are increased.

GreCon-Inline Thickness Gauge

Fluctuations in thickness and deviations from nominal values generally lead to losses in quality for the further processing of the panels and thus also to complaints. The DMR 5000 supplies all necessary measured data to ensure a consistent high quality standard by a quick adjustment of the production process.

Moreover, the measuring system transfers all data to an automatic process control system or a press control. Run-in times for product changes can thus be reduced and rejects minimised with the DMR 5000.

Your Benefit

GreCon DMR 5000

No unacceptable material required to be added for sanding
= reduction of production costs (0.1 mm ~ 0.8 % material)

Production control within restricted tolerance limits

Determines measured values to control the press

Combination with board scales possible to determine the raw density

ct-frame

Quick product change

Fast amortisation

ct-Frame

The DMR 5000 can be equipped with a ct-frame, which allows calibrations and adjustments of the system at any time by moving the ct-frames sideways out of the production line. Maintenance, diagnostics and even repairs can be carried out during the running production.

Moreover, the flexible construction of the system allows a so-called "escape run" in case of unexpected big blisters. Thus, damage to the measuring system is avoided. On the whole, an almost continuous system availability is achieved by this.

Measuring Principle

GreCon DMR 5000

High-precision rollers scan the material. Changes in thickness cause a vertical movement of the transducer. Inside the measuring heads, the measured values are transferred via an optical element. To avoid that the measuring results are impaired by vibrations and deformation of the panels, one measuring head each is positioned above and below the material flow.

To protect the measuring heads against mechanical damage by big blisters, for example, the top heads have special inclined inlet rails. Furthermore, all measuring heads are equipped with relatively big rollers.

Construction of the System

Up to 10 measuring tracks are installed on a frame, which consists of patented aluminium profiles. The cable and compressed air channels are integrated in the profile and thus effectively protected against surroundings.

Set-Point Positioning

A special mechanical protection and positioning system makes a contact measurement of almost the entire panel length possible. The rhomboidal wing allows panels to enter the measuring system at conveying speeds of up to 200 m/min.

Thanks to the set-point positioning, the measuring heads stay in their positions after the last measurement. In this way, the mechanical strain of both the panel edges and the measuring heads is reduced, which substantially prolongs the life of the measurement transducers. Furthermore, the consumption of compressed air of the measuring system is reduced. In case of a compressed air failure, the heads will stay in their last position and are thus protected against damage.

Combination with other Measuring Systems

GreCon DMR TWIN

The thickness gauge DMR 5000 being a modular system, it can be adapted to changing measuring requirements at any time. It can be combined with the ultrasonic measuring system UPU 5000 and the board scale GS 5000 or the continuous board scale CS 5000 and is thus expanded to an extensive and extremely reliable quality assurance station. This modular arrangement is preferably used after continuous presses.
