DIEFFENSOR
Inline Mat Scanner for Steel Belt Protection and Optimisation of the Mat Forming
With the GreCon mat scanner DIEFFENSOR, you can realise clear material savings while the panel quality stays consistent. The scanner calculates, in high resolution, the material distribution of fibre, chip or OSB mats in longitudinal and cross direction by complete measurement of the mat weight.
Weight Per Unit Area and Material Distribution
The permanent monitoring of the weight distribution before the main press is a substantial pre-condition for an optimum production flow: process-related fluctuations in weight per unit area are detected and can be considerably reduced. Considerable material savings can be realised by optimising fluctuations in longitudinal and cross direction, edge overspread and in case of product changes. Possible belt tracking caused by imbalances in the mat can be prevented. This feature is useful especially for product changes.
Thanks to clear graphical and numeric representations, the operator is able to follow and log the production processes easily at any time. Moreover, they can intervene in the forming process, if necessary, to ensure a consistent panel quality while the use of material and energy is optimised.
Your Benefit
The DIEFFENSOR is a measuring system incl. an analysis tool to optimise the material consumption
Panel weights can be predicted
Quality features can be shown by means of the inline sample measuring mode and are
demonstrable by means of a
laboratory interface
Hidden production failures occurring in the
upstream production process
can be detected
and eliminated
Process-related, systematic deviations are shown and can be reduced
In most cases, material, wood, glue and energy can be reduced by at least 1 to 3 %
Steel Belt Protection
With the DIEFFENSOR, press steel belts can be effectively protected against lasting damage by foreign bodies. By means of x-ray technology, the DIEFFENSOR precisely differentiates between harmless small foreign bodies or those which may damage the steel belt.
It recognises metallic and non-metallic foreign bodies of high density, such as glue lumps, super-dense fibre lumps or even plastic, aluminium and all other metals - even those that are not detected by usual metal detectors or magnets.
Such foreign bodies cause irreversible damage to the steel belts of a continuous press, especially when thin panels are produced. The DIEFFENSOR recognises shape and mass of the foreign bodies, triggers appropriate signals to sort them out and stores data and trends for later evaluation.
Measuring Principle
The DIEFFENSOR works in a non-contact way. X-ray sources, which transmit x-radiation through the material, are installed above the material to be measured. Depending on the specific density and the amount of material, the x-radiation is weakened. High-resolution sensors, which record the transmitted radiation intensity, are installed below the material. The weight per unit area of the measured material is calculated from this.
Calibration
The measuring system is equipped with a multistage calibration device. Physical and process-related influences are considered. The measuring accuracy is increased. Calibration is carried out at regular intervals.
Security
GreCon measuring systems are constructed according to the generally acknowledged rules of technology and are thus safe to operate. The DIEFFENSOR has a high-quality housing and complies with the technical requirements of the German Radiation Control Law as well as DIN 54113.
