DAX 5000
Establishing the Raw Density Profile with the Laboratory Density Analyser
For the inevitable precise analysis and enrichment of the data and panel parameters obtained from online measuring systems, the Laboratory Density Analyser DAX 5000 provides valuable support to optimise the production processes. Rapid, easy and highly accurate measurements of the density distribution are available for different wood-based panel samples.
Your Benefit

Several profiles superimposed in one graphic = production control
Material savings by checking, seeing, understanding, changing
Easy data export (to Excel)
Can be combined with further laboratory measuring devices
Quick amortisation
Measuring Principle
Highly precise measurements can be carried out at a speed of up to 1 mm per second with the optimised measuring source, consisting of an x-ray combination. In combination with other measuring systems, the laboratory work can be even more effective and easy. All laboratory data obtained is evaluated and displayed in the visualisation of the DAX 5000.
Configuration of the DAX 5000
The DAX 5000 is supplied as a complete laboratory system. It consists of the measurement transducer, a scale, an electronic caliper as well as monitor, mouse and keyboard. The measurement transducer consists of the motor control for the sample carrier, the measuring unit as well as the x-ray generator. To protect the operator, the moving parts are covered by a hood. The screening of the measuring area, approved by official authorities, is designed in such a way that no x-radiation can escape.
A scale and a measuring caliper are linked with the evaluation system of the DAX 5000. The mechanical dimensions as well as the weight of the sample to be measured are read in with the push of a button and automatically stored with the other sample data.
To evaluate several samples of the same panel, but also of different panels in one single measuring process, the sample magazines are equipped with several sample holders. Depending on the panel thickness, magazines for one, three or six samples are available. For easy handling, the sample holders can be removed from the carrier to place the panel samples. The laboratory work station houses all components of the measuring system and offers enough space for a "manual" data processing.
The Measuring Process
Measurement is carried out in only a few and simple steps. As a first step, the known production data of the panel samples is entered into the visualisation computer. This data is then allocated to the dimensional and weight values determined by means of the measuring caliper and the scale.
The sample holder, equipped with panel samples, is placed in the carrier and the measurement is started. Within a few seconds, the measured results are available in numerical and graphical form for further analysis. Reference measurements are carried out at regular intervals to obtain measuring results in a constantly high precision. For this purpose, the sample magazines are equipped with reference samples.
Software
The extensive DAX 5000 software is based on the Windows operating system and the simple menu structure makes intuitive handling of all program modules possible.
The core of the software package is the visualisation. It records, stores and graphically represents all measured data. The information obtained is automatically stored in a data base from where it can be called up for further analysis at any time. The integrated export function can be utilised to make the data available for other programs, such as tabulation.
